Bicester's expansion — new housing, new estate roads, new utilities and the infrastructure to serve them — means the town has a near-permanent programme of works. That is very different from a settled market town: the network changes month by month, and a design based on last year's layout is already wrong.
We work throughout Bicester: the town centre around Sheep Street and Market Square, Kings End, Langford Village, Bure Park, Southwold, Ambrosden and Launton on the edges, the Graven Hill development, the retail and outlet area, and the business and distribution parks near the motorway.
The corridors that matter here are the A41 running east to Aylesbury and west towards the M40, M40 Junction 9 at Wendlebury, the A4421 towards Buckingham and Bletchley, the B4030 towards Enslow and Chesterton, the B4100 towards Aynho, and the Oxford Road link south. The rail corridor through Bicester Village and Bicester North also constrains what can be closed and when.
Typical work includes site access and haul route arrangements on housing phases, utility excavations in new and existing estate roads, footway and cycleway closures, crane lifts and deliveries needing short closures, signals at constrained junctions, and overnight high-speed schemes on the A41 and around M40 Junction 9.
