Road type, location and dates is enough to start. We come back with what the scheme needs — drawings, permits, signals and crews — and what it costs.
What we do
One contractor for thewhole traffic management job
Most delays on site are not caused by the traffic management itself — they are caused by the gaps between the designer, the permit, the signals supplier and the crew. We close those gaps. Design, authority approval, equipment and operatives all come from us, on one order, with one person accountable for the scheme.

Why contractors keep calling us back
Scale when you need it.Judgement when it matters.
Around 300 operatives and staff and roughly 150 vehicles mean we can resource a motorway-adjacent closure and a village footway diversion in the same week, without subcontracting away control of the standard. Twenty-five years in temporary traffic management means the plan you get is the plan a highway authority will actually approve.
- Design that gets approved, not returned
- Scheme-specific CAD drawings and TTM design produced in-house and taken through to highway authority approval, so revisions do not eat your start date.
- Permits and TTROs handled end-to-end
- We deal with the councils: permit applications, Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders and liaison from first enquiry to sign-off.
- Directly ticketed crews on the ground
- Operatives hold Lantra/NRSWA cards and T1, T2 and T3 tickets, working to Sector Scheme 12, Chapter 8 and NRSWA standards.
- 24/7, including the calls nobody wants to make
- Night works, out-of-hours shifts and emergency rapid-response call-outs when a road or site has to be secured immediately.

What a properly run temporarytraffic management scheme looks like
Temporary traffic management is rarely the biggest line on a project, but it is very often the line that decides whether the rest of the programme holds. A drawing that does not satisfy the highway authority, a permit applied for in the wrong window, or a set of signals delivered without anybody to install them, and a fully resourced crew stands idle at the gate.
Our sequence is deliberately boring, because boring is what keeps roads open. We start with the works themselves: road type and speed limit, duration, whether the activity is static or mobile, what pedestrian and cycle movements have to be maintained, and what access residents and businesses need. That determines whether the scheme calls for high-speed traffic management, a low-speed urban arrangement, convoy or stop-go working, a contraflow, or a full road closure with a signed diversion.
From there we produce CAD drawings and TTM design, then take it through the highway authority for approval and handle the permit or Temporary Traffic Regulation Order alongside it. Because our designers and our operational team sit in the same business, the plan that gets approved is the plan the crew can actually build on the ground — the right taper lengths, the right sign positions, realistic set-up and removal windows.
Delivery is where scale earns its keep. Around 300 operatives and staff and roughly 150 lorries, vans and cars mean night works, weekend possessions and multi-phase schemes can be resourced without stripping crews from another client's job. Operatives hold Lantra and NRSWA cards with T1, T2 and T3 tickets, and every scheme is delivered to Sector Scheme 12 across 12A to 12D, Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual and NRSWA requirements.
We also hire out the equipment that keeps schemes running: portable and temporary traffic light hire supplied, installed and maintained for the full hire period, Chapter 8 signage, barriers and access control, ground protection and controlled access points. Where a site needs additional protection we can bring in incursion prevention and warning systems, dynamic speed signage and traffic management coordination support as part of the wider site safety picture.
Whether we are appointed direct by an end client or engaged as a subcontractor to a principal contractor, the reporting and paperwork are built to survive an audit: accreditations kept current with Constructionline, CHAS, SafeContractor, Achilles UVDB, Acclaim, BM Trada and ISO 9001, and £10 million public liability plus £10 million employers' liability cover behind every job. If your works are on a live highway, the paperwork matters as much as the cones.
Straight answers
Questions we getbefore the first order
How quickly can you get traffic management on site?
We run 24/7 cover, including emergency rapid-response call-outs and out-of-hours or night works. Tell us the location, road type and duration and we will confirm what we can mobilise and when. Response times depend on the scheme, so we confirm them in writing rather than promising a blanket figure.
Do you handle permits and Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders?
Yes. We handle local authority liaison end-to-end, including permit applications, TTROs and council sign-off, so you are not chasing paperwork between departments. We also take CAD drawings and TTM designs through to highway authority approval.
Are you registered under Sector Scheme 12?
We hold full Sector Scheme 12 registration across 12A, 12B, 12C and 12D, and work to Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual and the New Roads and Street Works Act. Operatives hold Lantra/NRSWA cards and T1, T2 and T3 tickets, and supervisors hold the relevant qualifications.
What insurance cover do you carry?
£10 million public liability and £10 million employers' liability. The public liability cover extends to highway-specific works, so there is no separate policy for you to verify.
Will you work as a subcontractor to our principal contractor?
Yes. We work direct for end clients and as a subcontractor to main and principal contractors. Both models are business as usual for us, and we align with your existing site rules, RAMS process and reporting.
Do you only cover Oxfordshire?
Oxfordshire is our base and local heartland, but coverage is genuinely nationwide — London, the South East, South West, Wales, the Midlands, the North and as far as Scotland, from one point of contact.
